Foreign students in exchange programs

If you are planning a mobility period at Université Lyon 1, first contact the student mobility office at your home university.
Your university will select you and then inform Lyon 1 by email, sending us your application file.

After reviewing your application, the International Relations Office of your host faculty at Lyon 1 will send you an acceptance letter.
Depending on your exchange program, you will then follow the registration procedures outlined below (and also detailed in your acceptance letter).

Please check the list of  and Non-Erasmus+ agreements to see if your home university is a partner of Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University.

Exchange programs and cooperation agreements

Erasmus+ exchange program

The Erasmus+ agreements are signed by discipline with the European partner universities, holders of the Erasmus university charter. This charter is opened to the 28 member states of the European Union to which are added Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Turkey and Croatia. In this framework, the Lyon 1 University holds more than 450 active agreements with 260 partner universities in 25 countries of the European Union.

Other exchange programs

Other specific exchange programs exist between Lyon 1 and other universities outside Europe. In every case, your file has to pass by the service in charge with the international mobility of your own university. Follow the indications below according to the exchange program involved in your mobility.

The student exchange program ORA Program (Ontario-Rh?ne-Alpes) exists due to privileged agreements 11 between universities of Ontario (Canada) and 10 higher education establishments of the Rh?ne-Alpes Region. It does not concern the Medicine department. If your university participates to this program, you can submit an application form in order to study in Lyon 1. See the ORA program participants list and the application process on the official ORA website or get information from your own university international mobility service.

The exchange Oregon Program links universities of Oregon (USA) to universities of Lyon. It does not concern the Medicine department. Check with your own university international mobility service to see if your university participates and to know more about the application process.

Double-degrees

Lyon 1 proposes specific courses programs allowing to obtain, at the end of a mobility path, 2 diplomas : the Lyon 1 diploma and the partner university’s diploma.

Delocalised Degrees

The Lyon 1 University is present "outside its wall" and offers the opportunity to obtain one of its diplomas though studying abroad. It is the "delocalised degree".
